The Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin would be definitively constituted in 1982. The lands that are included within this Designation of Origin are located in the northern plateau and the confluence of four provinces integrated within the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León: Burgos, Segovia, Soria and Valladolid. The River Duero is the axis which joins more than 100 villages extending throughout a vine-growing strip of land of some 115km length and 35 km width.
